Reupholstering High Chair Chevron Pattern Vintage

Reviving A Vintage High Chair

So there is this SUPER nice lady named Kristy, she contacted me ages ago to have me paint a cute old vanity pink.

Of course I painted it.  But that is not what this post is about!
When Kristy came to pick up her darling little vanity she asked me if I would like to have this AWESOME vintage high chair that was about to make its way into the endless pit that is DI...

Heart racing I said that I would LOVE to take it off her hands

Here it is.

It has been sitting in the corner of my dinning room for quite some time now.   I was waiting for the perfect fabric.  This teal and cream chevron jumped out at me as soon as I saw it...I bought the entire role of what was left determined to find something to use it on for my little man.

This just seams so perfect!

OK, so it was a really quick job...
Remove seat cushions and take off old beige sparkly fabric...

cut new fabric and wrap the cushion like a present. ! Make sure you do the edges last so it will be straight and pretty when you turn it over.

cut off excess fabric...
reattach...
DONE!

I may still be changing the color of the tray and foot rest, but I cant decide on a faded putrid green or cream.
What do you think?

Life's Unexpected

GET READY FOR A NEW START

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those

who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I need some encouragement.
Since reading your comments makes me so happy I have turned to you guys.

Last week I was informed that my beloved job at Finders Keepers was going to be gone at the end of December.  Many of you know that it was pretty much as close as I could get right now to my dream job. I will miss the excitement of paring each person with the perfect piece of unique furniture when they came into the store.   Although they will be closing their doors, they will still be refinishing furniture out of the work shop.   I will go back to one or two furniture transformations a week!  So get ready for a load of new posts and some visits from my fellow D.I.Y.ers!  New year here I come!

My first project will be...

It will be for my daughters room.

Do you see how the legs match?

  The decals also match!

I will have an entire matching Antique bedroom set for my little girl for under 100.00 dollars!

I am so happy about that.

We will also be doing a little painting and wall paper wainscoting!

we might even get as far as putting her bed together.

Im going to have to get back into the swing of things so bare with me as I figure out a routine.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Tea & Dress Up

Good Morning!  This morning is so quiet and peaceful in my house.  My husband is at work, and my sister has my kids for a sleep over, so it is just me.

I made myself a pot of tea, and I plan on sipping that as I finnish this post, and head over to some of your blogs to read what is new!

Sigh of happiness....

Yes...That is real steam coming out of the pot.  I still can't believe my camera got that!

We had our harvest party at my church this past week, it was a blast!
My family dressed up "Farm Theme"
Mr. SAS and I are dressed up as Farmers
My little Mia is a girl from little house on the prairie
and my little man is a chicken (the beak was SO impressive...before he got to it).

My son is not too impressed with all the jumping and hollering that is going on behind the camera. Haha, but I love this picture still!

Have a great Fall day!

Wreath Frame Redo

Happy Holidays!

I know, it feels a little early to say that doesn't it?  But just to warn you, Thanksgiving is only 4 weeks away!

EEEEeeeek!!

I love this time of year.

Do you guys remember this?

I truly am SO proud of this wreath, it was a labor like no other for me!

Although I am a bright color type of person, every time I come home it seems a little too bright for our quickly cooling weather.

So I repainted the frame!

Can you tell?

It is the same color, but a few shades darker!

Pardon the overly bright picture...the sun was not cooperating!

So what do you think?

Ill take better pictures later.

Partial Wall. HELP!! CONT.

Welcome to my little home!

So I know that I just barely posted this post, but there were a few questions that I wanted to answer so you guys could help me better!

Here is the layout of the front of my house.

One of my goals this year was to start updating my kitchen.  As I have been gathering things for my kitchen for a while in an attempted to update it for under 500.00.  Instead I started to update my friends kitchen...Haha.

So back on track now, I have a partial wall in my living room/dinning room/kitchen.  I am so torn weather or not I should keep it, and just work with it, or if I should tear it down and make my room more open.

Here it is.

That third arrow is a trouble spot as well, we can't put anything there because it blocks off the hall way.
:-(

Pardon the mess in the background, I'm deep cleaning...and when I deep clean, everything gets worse before it gets better! Yep, I'm one of those people...
Behind this wall is immediately my sink, to the right is my refrigerator (you can just see a little of it in this pic) then my dinning room...

ok so now you see my fridge, and my lovely hutch! (to be painted).

Right now my table is off to the side because I am working on getting a design going!

Here is my living room that is directly across from the kitchen and dinning room. If you are sitting on the sofa your view is the partial wall.  The hallway starts right behind the chair.

Phew!  Are you all still with me?

Do you see my dilemma?

What are your thoughts?

Thrifty Finds

Thrifty Finds~ Two words I adore!

This past week was my birthday!  I had an absolute blast just spending time with my Family.  I am looking forward to a weekend retreat this weekend in Park City!

So!  Do you want to see the great finds I scored?
Of course you do. Ha!

Some of you may know that I am remodeling my Laundry Room, along with all the other rooms in my house Haha.

Well, I am sort of going with a shabby chic style, and I am very particular about what I want in there.  So far we have bought a new washer, we are saving for the dryer.  I also wanted an antique iron, antique clothes washing sign, some cute containers, and an antique washing board.  All with coordinating colors.

So thank you to a good friend of mine over at
Treasures Antique Mall
in Springville for finding me these two beauties to add to my room!

This is an antique Colman gas iron!  These are very rare!  They weren't used for very long because after lighting the pilot inside if you weren't careful, it could cause the gas holder to light on fire and blow up! Haha, ya it was not popular for long.
Apart from a little burn on the handle, and a little needed cleaning, it is in mint condition!
LOVE IT!

The Antique washing board was actually used by a family, and it has a really daring painted stamp/lettering on the top..I need to find a way to bring it out so you can see it.

I also added a couple of pieces to my milk glass collection...
I think I am done for a while. Ha!

I have finally decided on grey for the hutch!  Then a grey blue for the back so the milk glass will stand out.

What do you think?

Leave me some comments!   I love them!
